Miami Dolphins players heap praise on highly rated team dietician
In a recent article from Sarah Bishop for ESPN, multiple Miami Dolphins players talked about the team’s dining options led by dietician John Parenti, and how those dishes help fuel the team to success on game days.
Parenti — the second highest rated team dietician in the National Football League — leads the charge in South Florida and his efforts allowed the Dolphins to achieve “A” grades for both the dietician and food and cafeteria categories in the famed NFL Players Association Report Card grading metrics from a couple of months ago. Those metrics were mentioned by multiple incoming Dolphins free agents as contributing factors when deciding which team to sign with this offseason.
Speaking on Miami’s dietician, tight end Durham Smythe had this to say:
“I’ve seen John [Parenti] walk into the cafeteria with guys and say, pick this, pick this amount of this, this amount of that. And then you really can’t fail when that’s happening.”
Bishop also revealed a favorite dish for one of Miami’s favorite players — defensive tackle Zach Sieler.
Gyros.
The famous Greek/Lebanese dish is described as “meat (often lamb) cooked on a vertical rotisserie, then sliced and served wrapped or stuffed in pita bread, along with other ingredients such as tomato, onion, fried potatoes, and tzatziki.”
Sieler expressed his gratitude towards Parenti and his staff by saying, “[The staff] definitely bend over backwards to make sure that everyone is getting treated to maximize their potential each day.”
