In a Kansas City Star article that describes the burgeoning border battle between Missouri and Kansas as a âconfrontationâ between the two states for the two teams, Kansas Senator Rob Olsen predicts that a new Chiefs stadium in Kansas âwould host a Super Bowl within a few years.â
Thatâs the curveball that could have a major impact on the outcome of the effort to keep the Chiefs in the region. Improvements to Arrowhead Stadium wouldnât bring the Super Bowl to town, unless the upgrades include a roof. A new stadium in Kansas would be a dome, which could lead to the usual cold-weather city quid pro quo â as the NFL has done in Minneapolis (twice), Indianapolis, and Detroit (twice).
With the five-week break between mandatory minicamp and Chiefs training camp in St. Joseph, Missouri, players are left to their own devices. Many of them travel and wind up using that break to take some much-needed time off before the grueling season ahead, but thatâs not the case for Brown. He posted a workout video on Tuesday, which shows him getting after it.
The Kansas City Chiefs could be moving from Kansas City, Missouri to Kansas City, Kansas in the coming years. If youâre not local to the KC area(s), you may have had to re-read that sentence multiple times for it to even begin to make sense. If youâre a Kansas Citian, you may believe that the sky is falling or that itâs raining manna from heaven, depending on which side of the state line you prefer. Currently, Iâm not sure if you should care at all.
The votes on the Kansas stadium-financing plan were 84-38 in the state House and 27-8 in the Senate. Lawmakers from across the state â even western Kansas, far from any new stadium â supported the measure.
It would allow state bonds to cover up to 70% of each new stadium, paying them off over 30 years with revenues from sports betting, state lottery ticket sales and new sales and alcohol taxes collected from shopping and entertainment districts around the new stadiums.
House Commerce Committee Chair Sean Tarwater, a Kansas City-area Republican, said the Chiefs still are likely to spend $500 million to $700 million in private funds on a new stadium.
âThere are no blank checks,â Tarwater told GOP colleagues during a briefing.
Travis Kelce responds to typo on Chiefsâ $40,000 Super Bowl ring: âWho cares?â | NBC Sports
âMiami was actually the sixth seed. I guess thatâs just the way the ring is ⌠Are you gonna get it fixed?â Jason Kelce asked.
âI donât give a sâ. No, I like it that we didnât give a fâ about what seed Miami was,â Travis Kelce responded. âWho cares? They could have done no seeds on the side of them and I wouldâve been fine.â
Chiefs cornerback brings Super Bowl ring to Ronald McDonald House | KCTV5
When asked to pick a favorite between his two rings, McDuffie chose a different option:
âRing number 3. Always the next one,â he said. âBut man, having them both on my hand, it doesnât get better than this. Itâs really a blessing.â
His visit brought a sparkle to the room â in more ways than one.
âYou always have to do that because you just have to call out whatâs not right,â Wallace said. âIf you see something thatâs not right, then, hey, call it out. The league doesnât like you to do that. But as players, we have to do that because weâre under such scrutiny from the media and fans.
âItâs like, look, all right, we all know we can see this, whatâs happening and so forth. Why do we say the majority is mostly still on a player, because we go out there and execute things, right? Itâs so much video out here now. Especially in football, itâs hard to do some real cheat stuff. Like in basketball, you can because there are so many possessions.â
âI was really excited [to take the new role],â Cregg said last week. âIt was a funny story, I was obviously at San Francisco last year, we were playing in the Super Bowl here in Vegas. So I came to Vegas, I didnât know I was going to be staying in Vegas. I had no idea, but watching the game, going over the game plan and going over it with Chris Foerster, the line coach and watching these guys. The Raider game against Kansas City â obviously we were preparing for Kansas â really stuck out to us. And I was watching those guys for two weeks just on tape, and I saw it. And then soon as I got a call from Luke Getsy to see if Iâd be interested in taking this opportunity, I jumped at it because I watched what I saw on the tape.
âI saw Thayer Munford. I saw those kinds of guys like that. I saw Andre James. I saw all those guys. Kolton [Miller] was the missing piece in that game, but I know Kolton Miller, Iâve seen a ton of his film. And so I jumped at the chance to be here, and then back in a great organization, I didnât think twice about it. Itâs a great opportunity for me, and Iâm excited as heck to work with these guys. Itâs going to be cool, man. I canât wait.â

3. AFC WEST
In the end, the power of Mahomes and Herbert wins out, but the bottom half of the AFC West must exceed expectations, even slightly, in order for the division to rise. But even if the Broncos and Raiders donât maximize their QB performances, itâs hard to put the AFC West QBs much lower because of the two stars.

POLL: Do you want to see David Bakhtiari join the Chiefs?

âIâm like, âI just want to be with the next Super Bowl MVP. Thatâs it.â
