On the latest episode of the Move the Sticks podcast with former NFL scout Daniel Jeremiah and former NFL player Bucky Brooks, the duo ranked the quarterbacks of the AFC East from worst to first, and Miami Dolphins starting quarterback Tua Tagovailoa came in second, just behind the Buffalo Billsā Josh Allen.
Both analysts ranked Allen first, Tagovailoa second, Aaron Rodgers of the New York Jets third, and Jacoby Brissett of the New England Patriots in the fourth and final position.
Hereās what Jeremiah had to say about Tagovailoa ranking higher than future Hall of Fame quarterback Aaron Rodgers:
āThe conversation and debate is Tua versus Aaron and when you factor in health and recent performance and expectations of where they are, I donāt ā I couldnāt get myself ā I respect Aaron and what heās done and accomplished, but I couldnāt ā I couldnāt ā put him down over Tua based off of recent history.ā
Brooks followed Jeremiah with his assessment.
āYeah, itās hard. I mean, youād be giving a lifetime achievement award. Tuaās numbers are what they are and his production and performance on the field certainly merits him being in that conversation. Is he an all-timer? Is he a top-five quarterback in this league? I would say no, but itās hard to dispute what heās been able to do with the weapons around him and in the offense that Mike McDaniel has, so youāve got to give him his flowers.ā
