Ravens được gán cho hai nhóm vị trí 'mạnh nhất' trong NFL, trái tim chúng ta vẫn còn nặng lòng
There’s no arguing that the Ravens have one of the best rosters in the league after boasting the NFL’s best record (13-4) and coming up one game shy of the Super Bowl last season.
Baltimore lost several key players in free agency, including wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. (Dolphins), linebacker Patrick Queen (Steelers) and safety Geno Stone.
That has left many debating if the Ravens can pick back up where they left off last year.
Pro Football Focus’ John Kosko believes Baltimore should be able to do just that after naming two of its position groups as the strongest in the league.
Kosko first names the Ravens as the strongest running back room in the NFL.
“The Ravens added Derrick Henry to an already productive room,” Kosko writes. “Pairing Henry with the lightning-fast Keaton Mitchell and the underrated Justice Hill gives Baltimore a diverse backfield to punish opposing defenses.”
Henry looks like he’ll complement Mitchell and Hill’s talents quite well. However, the thought of Lamar Jackson and Henry in the same backfield should keep opposing defenses awake at night.
Jackson has been Baltimore’s leading rusher for the past five years. Pairing him with the two-time NFL rushing yards and touchdown leader (2019-20) doesn’t seem fair.
Kosko believes the Ravens have one of the best position groups on the other side of the ball as well, naming their safety room the best in the league.
“Kyle Hamilton’s excellent play shouldn’t overshadow the importance of Marcus Williams at the other safety spot,” Kosko writes. “The Ravens have a formidable duo that can play off each other’s strengths very well. Hamilton is a moveable chess piece and Williams can roam the middle of the field with excellent range.”
Baltimore’s loss of Stone was a big blow to the defense after he registered the second-most interceptions in the league (7) in 2023.
Hamilton and Williams still create arguably the best safety tandem in the league. The two combined for 136 tackles, three sacks, one forced fumble, five interceptions and 21 passes defensed last season.
The Ravens lost several impactful players this offseason, but having two of the best position groups in the NFL will certainly help make up for the loss of those players in 2024.
