The cemetery was to contain approximately 80 bones, most of which were complete. Additionally, they discovered huge preserved ceramic vessels containing grains. “Since then, no one knows where the skeletons are,” Florea told the Romanian weekly Libertatea in an interview. In recent years, however, the inhabitants of Scaieni have also discovered the cemetery of the colossus while cultivating an apple orchard. Along with the enormous skulls, they found complete skeletons, precious stones and fragments of three-meter-high sculptures. A group of archaeologists visited this place, removed the artifacts and the local population lost track of the discovery.
Interestingly, Romanians are familiar with numerous legends about giants. They once inhabited the surrounding forests of Scaieni. According to locals, beneath the mountains there are huge caverns that hide underground passages full of treasures. In 2016, when journalists were tasked with investigating a mystery, they discovered that the investigation was strictly confidential.
