After flaming out in the first round of the NFL playoffs by losing to the upstart Green Bay Packers in epic fashion at AT&T Stadium, the Dallas Cowboys headed into the offseason with many questions surrounding the storied franchiseâs immediate future.
Longtime team owner Jerry Jones did his best to put Cowboys fans at ease by claiming Dallas would go âall-inâ this offseason in order to right the ship for the 2024 campaign and beyond, but then the team did virtually nothing this offseason, which only angered their fan base that much more and left people wondering what was going on with this team.
As per usual, diehard Cowboys fan Skip Bayless of FOX Sports always chimes in on anything that happens with his beloved franchise and hasnât held back with his criticism since the team got crushed by the Packers in the first round of the postseason.
Along with being highly critical of the Cowboys during the offseason thus far, Bayless took it to another level entirely this week by claiming Dallas wonât even make the playoffs next season.
âCowboys are not making next yearâs playoffs,â Bayless said.
This is a pretty bold statement considering how talented the Cowboys are on both sides of the football as currently constructed, with quarterback Dak Prescott and wide receiver CeeDee Lamb leading the way offensively and linebacker Micah Parsons leading the charge on defense.
However, Bayless is speaking more from his heart than his head with this take, as it seems to be a bit of a stretch that Dallas wonât make the postseason next season, but stranger things have happened, especially with this franchise.
