The Miami Dolphins enter Week 2 of training camp, hoping their offensive line stays healthy in 2024 after struggling to stay healthy last season. The offensive line battled injuries all season, and none of their starting five started every game last season. Their starting left guard suffered a season-ending injury early on.

Isaiah Wynn won the starting LG job heading into the season and started the first seven games of 2023. Unfortunately, he suffered a quadriceps injury in their opening drive against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 7. The Dolphins placed him on injured reserve, and he missed the rest of the season.
The Dolphins re-signed him to a one-year contract during the offseason. He has missed offseason workouts, OTAs, and mandatory minicamp to recover from the previous injury. He isn’t quite ready.

The Dolphins placed Wynn on the active/PUP list, meaning he will count against the 90-man roster and isn’t allowed to practice. However, if he does practice, they must elevate him to the active roster. He will miss the first four games if they place him on the reserve/PUP list during roster cuts.
Head coach Mike McDaniel, via Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald, gave an encouraging injury update.
“Is doing well,” McDaniel said. “He’s been a steadfast fixture within the team. He’s progressing. I’ll give you an update when it’s clearer.”

Assuming he returns to training camp soon, Wynn will compete for the starting left guard position and probably win. He has a good chance of winning because the Dolphins have three players competing for the right guard job, and he doesn’t face stiff competition for the job since he’ll be competing against Liam Eichenberg.
The three players competing for the starting right guard job include Robert Jones, Lester Cotton Sr., and Jack Driscoll. Jones enters his fourth year in the league with 13 starts, Cotton enters his sixth year with nine starts, and finally, Driscoll enters his fifth year with 17 starts in their respective careers.
If the Dolphins don’t sign any interior offensive linemen during camp and if Wynn misses the start of the season, one of the players will move to left guard and start the first few games of 2024 unless Eichenberg impresses throughout camp.
