Your Miami Dolphins 2024 Predictions
Toinight’s post is based on a question suggested by site member SuperG! The question that I posted last week was:
Where do you expect our Miami Dolphins to finish this season? That question can be taken in multiple ways, so give us where you think the team will wind up in the division, the AF, and the NFL overall.
Below are some of your answers and thoughts on the question of the day-
glen55 would have liked to give his answer via interpretive dance but settled for this photo instead.
I only ever really have one answer to this question, at least pre-season.
62Lou says that winning the division is the expectation.
The question should be – what SHOULD BE expected of this team based on the state of the AFC EAST and our division opponents. IMO the dolphins should win the division based on our offense, coaching and TYE HILL/WADDLE/SMITH/MOSTERT/ACHANE/BECKHAM/WRIGHT (rookie). anything less is a failure. The Defense will be middle of the pack – maybe better if our edge rushers can generate pressure and our injured stars play well enough. This league favors the offense – thats our strength. The WILDCARD is Tua’s performance and MCDs play selection in big games vs the great teams – can they finally win those games ? I’m just asking to go .500 against the playoff teams and beat the weaker ones. If that happens – we win the division (at least 11-7) and play round #1 at home.
daytonadolfan says to avoid injuries, then we can roll into the playoffs and maybe even into the Super Bowl.
Evening, I see us deep in the playoffs if not being able to go to the big show! Avoiding injuries is the key for us this year!
finfanfromsiam believes that it all comes down to the “ifs”.
Tough question with ‘if’ answers…if the defense can be as good or better than last year because new DC/scheme. If the offense can protect the QB, QB can take another step, OC/Coach can elevate his play calling/team further. If the online can stay relatively healthy and jell to a comprehensive unit. If the receiving corp is more than 2 guys who are healthy at the end of the year. It our kicking game doesn’t let us down in key moments. If the team plays to or near its ceiling the Dolphins can win the division and be there at the AFCCG. A lot of ifs to manifest this season. I’m gonna give that happening 60/40…change my mind..
21Dave thinks that we are one and done again in the playoffs.
I’m praying I’m wrong, but a playoff birth or wildcard game and then a loss. Until we win one I will have to lean towards recent history. The lack of upgrade made to our trenches is what leads me to this. Trust me I hope I way off.
MIAMI235 believes that it’s a division title or bust.
Winning their Division! ( I like the way it sounds)
Spok507 believes that this team can go all the way or at least damn close to it.
I’d say this is probably our best chance in decades of winning the East and making it to the AFC Championship game. If it’s in Miami — I’m thinking SuperBowl. If it’s anywhere else… probably have to settle for AFC East Champions. But — on paper — this should be the year. McDaniel has 2 years under his belt; we have a new DC (again), but one the players really seem to be getting behind; we’ve added increased WR threats in OBJ and Jonnu Smith, and our RB room is even more dangerous with the addition of Wright. If everything comes to fruition, this will be a great season! I see 13 or 14 wins. Now to make surDolphinsKings1 they’re healthy and hitting their stride later in the season instead of peaking early.
coach k 13 sees a divisional win coming.
12-5 and afc east champs!!!!
dedstrk316 says ditto with one additional win.
11-6 AFC east champs.
DolphinsKings1 sees the team securing the first seed and taking the season all the way to the AFC championship game.
13-4
AFC EAST CHAMPIONS
#1 SEED
Home Field Advantage Throughout The Playoffs
Win Divisional Playoff Game versus the Kansas City Chiefs advance to AFC CHAMPIONSHIP
Beyond this I can’t see who we will play.
FinscallyIrresponsible is another that sees a one-and-done in the playoffs again.
2nd place AFC East. Losing in the first round of the playoffs again.
Dolfanjoe sees the team taking the division with seven losses.
10 wins 7 loses, taking the AFC East ! Final game the deciding factor again ! Tough division tough schedule. Health and depth will determine our playoff run once again. Would be nice to actually be healthy for a change !
SlayerNation1 sees the team making it to the championship game.
12-5, AFC Northeast Champions, win 2 playoff games, lose in AFCCG on the road.
The Offense, of course will be the identity and the strength. The Defense will be improved and help keep tougher games close enough to win some ugly games they would customarily lose, especially in the latter months.
All the above is predicted on the Fast Start opportunity afforded Miami in the first 4 days of the season. Win a probable AFC tiebreaker vs. JAX, 4 days later beat division rival BUF, then 10 day bye in September. Take advantage of that.
VolFaninFla sees a third-place season.
Their #10 defense can’t be as good as last year due to the severe injuries and the loss of Wilkinson so realistically 11-6, possibly 12-5. If Rogers lights it up, they will be 3rd in the east with a chance at a wild card game.
Most fans, at least here on the Phinsider, seem fairly upbeat about this team going into the season. I hope that you are all correct unless you predicted something that was not so great. Check in with us again tomorrow evening for another Phinsider Question Of The Day post.
